Porter Scott Wins Motion for Summary Judgment on Civil Rights Case

Will Camy and Matt Gross successfully defended a local municipality and its correctional deputies, prevailing on a Motion for Summary Judgment in the Eastern District of California. The County incarcerated Plaintiff in its jail for violent criminal charges. Plaintiff alleged correctional deputies intentionally slammed cell doors, making unnecessary noise, creating “cruel and unusual” conditions under the 8th Amendment. The Court held Plaintiff failed to comply with the Prison Litigation Reform Act and granted the Defendants’ Motion for Summary Judgment.
