We are very pleased to announce that Nancy was named as the 2014 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Sacramento Valley Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.  ABOTA is a national peer-reviewed organization of trial lawyers dedicated to the preservation of the right to trial by jury.  Nancy is the second Porter Scott partner to be named the Trial Lawyer of the Year (Russ Porter was the recipient in 2003) and the first woman in the Chapter to receive this esteemed award.  Being first is nothing new for Nancy.  She was the first woman partner in the firm, and continues to lead by example in demonstrating the respect and courtesy towards others that led to her receiving the ABOTA Civility Award in 2010.

The presentation of the TLY trophy was made at the Chapter’s annual dinner dance on January 31st.  ABOTA member Noel Ferris entertained the group with stories about Nancy’s career, including her cross examination on “unique candies” during her first employment law trial. “It is a wonderful honor to receive this award from a group of people who are not only the best litigators in this region, but also my professional peers and most importantly, my friends”, Nancy said.

Congratulations on an award well deserved!
